Donation to foster children

2 February 2015

On December 20, 2014, a group of international volunteers from AOK PTE was invited for a Christmas party for those children under foster care in the city of Pécs. Upon the initiation of Justin Kim, these international volunteers from AOK had recently started their very first project to run their donation drive to prepare some Christmas gifts such as books, toys, and little items for boys and girls. Even during the first couple of weeks of final exam season, the volunteer students could gather enough cash and the exact items some of those children hoped for their Christmas, thanks to the help of EGSC staff, Ms.  Gabriella Földényi, along with the donations from different students studying at the school. Although the project itself was organized and initiated so randomly within a short period of actual preparation, the group of international students could witness a handful of miraculous stories happening in our daily lives at medical school. As a result, around two scores of children under foster care due to some reasons could receive a few gifts from these unknown foreign strangers, who will also begin to “learn and play together” from February 2015. This Christmas Project will continue this year as well.
