The XVII. International Semmelweis Symposium - "Building bridges from basics to invasive cardiology" takes place in the Heart Center of the Semmelweis University from the 27.-29. November 2008. in Budapest. The scientific program includes such topics as: Cardiovascular genetics and stem cell therapy Arrhythmogenic substrate of arrhythmias Novel therapeutic methods of acute coronary syndrome Current trends in heart failure therapy Physiologic background of cardiac function regulation Non-invasive imaging in cardiology On-line case presentations Among the invited lecturers we find H. Ruskoaho who participates in long-term scientific collaboration with the Heart Institute of the University of Pécs, and Professor Ákos Koller, the head of the Department of Pathophysiology and Gerontology.
