Report on the Annual Conference of the Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE)

An 8-member delegation represented the University of Pécs Medical School at the annual conference of the Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE) held in Iasi, Romania between 04.10.-07.10.2023. Leaders, coworkers and members of the Department of Anatomy, the Medical Skills Education and Innovation Centre, the Circle of Demonstrators and the Romhányi György College for Advanced Studies participated in the meeting, where the main topic was ’The Digital Transformation for Healthcare Professions: Patient Care, Education and Research’.

Dr. Andrea Tamás, associate professor of the Department of Anatomy, president of the Circle of Demonstrators (CoD), member of the conference’s organising committee and member of the board of AMSE led the delegation. Further members of the delegation were Prof. Dr. Dóra Reglődi, Vice-Dean for science, Chair of the Department of Anatomy, Board Member of the Romhányi György College for Advanced Studies, Dr. Kristóf Filipánits, PhD student, Board member of the CoD, President of the Romhányi György College for Advanced Studies, Míra Zsófia Peresztegi, Board member of the CoD, Board member of the Romhányi György College for Advanced Studies, Alexandra Brunauer, Board member of the CoD, member of the Romhányi György College for Advanced Studies, Dr. Zsombor Márton, PhD student and assistant professor at the Department of Anatomy, member of the Romhányi György College for Advanced Studies, Máté Szemes, final year medical student, founder and developer of the anatomy-learning software ’Corpus’ and Adrienn Jakabovics, assistant professor at the Medical Skills Education and Innovation Centre.

By favour of Viorel Scripcariu, rector of Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the members of the delegation had the opportunity to visit the Department and Museum of Anatomy at Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy, furthermore, they had a guided tour of the local Simulation and Skill Center, where they tried out a wide range of simulations of real-life medical scenarios.
